What might have been?

Hello Matey's... Thank you all very much for your wonderful response to the recent Pirates of the Caribbean post!!! so I thought I'd show what might have been if we had chosen another design pose instead, here are my rough thumbnails of other ideas for the design of the Jack Sparrow and Barbossa piece... Thanks goes to Kinn Melby from Enesco for all the reference materials and beautifully sculpted by Tim Bruckner! See if you can find the one that was picked?

Ruben, Is it #1? :) It's fun seeing these all together, with the changes in position and swords scrolling through is almost like watching an animated duel!

Super! JMS

I'm betting #1 was picked. Partially because of the connecting sword interaction, and because the pose of the Johnny Depp pirate (the hero) is balanced in a confident way as opposed to the slight unsure footing of the other (equally strong in different ways) poses.Also,...you know how it is,..the first idea is usually the best but as artists we have to explore every possibility.
I can't say it enough,..I LOVE YOUR DRAWINGS !!!!!
