Phantom Annual "sneak peak" in Color!



Coming soon this December will be the first american Phantom Annual published by Moonstone Books, here are a few pages and panels, story by Ron Marz, art by myself and color by Val Staples. Other writers in the Annual are Mike Bullock and artist Graham Nolan.

  4. So glad you are keeping your feet in the comics world, Ruben! I gotta say, while you are strong in all areas of draftsmanship, the area, I think, you truly excel is in page/panel layout. The Doc Savage examples below are an endless wealth of "how to show a scene", lead the eye, illustrate drama, etc. Just amazing!

  5. I'll just "ditto" everything Tom said. These are great , Ruben ! I love The Phantom. You look like you're having so much fun in comics will you ever be tempted to go back to Disney Animation when the hand-drawn features get going again ? Still hoping to get to work together on an animated film again sometime ... (that goes for Mr. Bancroft , too .... gosh, I miss those days . Can you believe it's been like 10 years since we were in the thick of working on "Mulan" , '95 - '97 ? )
