Hadn't seen most of these. I remeber the 1st one from the art of book. Thanks for showing them. It's amazing the amount of great development work that is created for these movies and will never be seen by the general public. There should be a Disney concept art series of books i think.See what you can do.:)

You did a lot more than this, too, didn't you Ruben?
I also remember Mark Henn's volumes of character designs he did for Mulan. After a couple hundred, Barry Cook asked, "Geez, Mark, are you going to draw every person in China?"

The looseness and story potential of these drawings are very good. It seems to show Mulan as spending real time in the army and becoming a great soldier. It also seems to suggest a tougher and more complex character. Perhaps, like, an actual substantial role-model for girls? I wish the character design for the film had gone more that "caligraphic" route I wish (wish to heaven) that the film had been as great and interesting as it sometimes gave the audience little glimpses of. Like many Disney's--all this great talent used on all this great and interesting pre-production and concept art, only to wimp out on most of it in the end. Anyway, Love these drawings and would love to see more.
